Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering

Besides the basic and engineering science, the curriculum in Civil Engineering covers various professional subject e.g. structure, foundation, construction work management and cost, transportation engineering, irrigation engineering, hydraulics and environmental engineering and earthquake technology etc. The Department is well equipped with laboratories related to structure, concrete testing, Soil Machines, Highway Engineering, Experimental Stress Analysis, Computational Mechanics, Educational Technology, environmental Engineering and Hydraulics laboratories, The Department undertakes to organize special lectures and discussion by eminent persons from the field and industry.


Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

The field of Electrical Engineering is concerned with generation, transmission, distribution, control and utilization of electrical energy. Electricity and its application also play a vital role in improving living conditions of the people and powering different industries. Thus, the Diploma holders of Electrical Engineering are considered to be crucial manpower for the generation and utilization of electricity. The course being taught is adequately supplemented through practical training in the laboratories.

The Department offers intensive knowledge about Electrical Engineering and trains the student in various fields such as Power System, Electrical Machinery, Network theory, Electrical measurement, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Design of Electric machines and gives industrial exposure through modern technology.

All the labs are equipped with the modern electrical testing, measuring and other instruments such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, Power Scopes, tachometers, function generators, muggers, portable meters and digital millimeters, sophisticated instruments to measure frequency, power, power factor energy, thermal resistance etc. Keeping in mind the industrial requirements in the field of Electric machine automation the department has recently established a separate section in its Electric Machines Lab for micro controller based control of electric machines.

Mechanical engineers design and produce all kinds of mechanical components and systems for manufacturing firms, research laboratories and testing services. An expert in this field may work with acoustics, aviation systems, engine design mass transit systems heating systems and many other kinds of mechanical devices. Coursework includes the basics of electrical theory, physics, mechanics, heat transfer materials testing, system controls and other subjects. Equipped with laboratory facilities a library and experienced faculty this branch has produced generations of mechanical engineers.

Computer has revolutionized not only the data processing and storage, but also the quality of life, communication, manufacturing and transportation. PC, internet and tale conference has become a household commodity.

In last 3 years, computer engineering-processor development & testing lab, signal processing lab, LIC lab, software lab, networking lab, web designing lab, multi-media lab, CAD-CAM lab, software engineering lab etc.

The curriculum in computer engineering lay greater emphasis on design and development, in addition to software packages. A greater emphasis is on the electronic science & engineering. Industrial training is an integral part of the curriculum. Miniaturization in computer technology, audio-video and image processing, storage and retrieval, data processing, communication and nano-technology etc are going to affect the computer knowledge in the coming decades.
